Originally from Bahia, Brazil, Silvano Santos (Contramestre Tucum) has over 30 years of experience instructing Capoeira classes for all ages in Brazil and Southeast Asia. He actively runs his own business, Flowartes, and partners with other organisations and schools to teach, perform and promote Capoeira in various institutions and events across the region. His belief in the benefits of Capoeira towards a healthy and holistic lifestyle has motivated and inspired hundreds of students to take up interest.

Silvano started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 training under the tutelage of Alexsandro “Leke” Machado and officially earned his black belt in 2025 from Professor Leke under supervision of Mestre Ricardo Vieira. He has been teaching the martial art for a decade. In 2021, Flowartes became an official Checkmat affiliate. Armed with this versatile and multidisciplinary approach, he also conducts MMA programs for schools and tertiary institutions, including schools for students with special needs.

Baiana Santos is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and educator sharing her vast knowledge of technical skills, spirit, and wisdom, that she has gained from years of dedication both on the mat and in life.

With a passion for BJJ that began in 2012, Baiana has achieved remarkable success in the sport, winning prestigious competitions like the IBJJF European Championship, IBJJF Asian Championship, IBJJF Masters Asia Championship, IBJJF Tokyo Open, and IBJJF Seoul Open.

Baiana brings her wealth of experience and competition insights to our mats, offering our students unmatched guidance and inspiration. She’s taken on a new challenge by transitioning into education, finding immense joy in teaching and inspiring young minds. Her journey in BJJ, coupled with her dedication to education, shows her commitment to continuous growth and learning.

As a devoted mother of three, Baiana believes that motherhood should never be a barrier to pursuing one’s dreams. Being a mom doesn’t mean you have to put your dreams on hold. Her story is a testament to the incredible things you can achieve when you put your heart, mind, and effort into something. Baiana shares not just her technical skills but also the spirit, wisdom, she’s gained from years of dedication both on the mats and in life.

Instrutor Teiú has trained with Contramestre Tucum since 2006 (with Capoeira Argola de Ouro under Mestre Ousado). He obtained his Instructor certification in 2015, and has been assisting and instructing Capoeira classes for both children and adults in Singapore since 2011. Under Flowartes Capoeira, Instrutor Teiú assists Contramestre Tucum in promoting the martial art; teaching and performing at local schools, community centers and various events in Singapore. He believes that Capoeira is physically and holistically beneficial, and hopes to inspire more people to take up Capoeira as fun way to a healthier lifestyle.
